Markings:
The panel consists of two planks joined horizontally with the join seemingly reinforced with a milled-out baton on the reverse. The panel is bevelled on all sides. The painted surface seems to be in a nice condition. Two horizontal cracks can be observed: one at approximately 6 cm from the top edge, running all the way through. The other crack of circa 12 cm, runs inward from the left at circa 3 cm from the lower edge. Some minor surface dirt can be seen in the sky in the upper right corner; a few small repaired indents can be seen along the upper edge. Some thinness in the brown areas of the landscape can be seen. The painted surface is covered with an older, somewhat discoloured varnish layer. UV: the varnish layer fluoresces largely showing retouchings along the join and a few in the sky. Some traces of old strengthening can be seen in the lower foreground and on the left side. Frame: carved and gilt wooden frame.
